Foundations Pt 1
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from managing autoimmune disease, staying active into my late 30s, and building a wellness-focused lifestyle—it’s this: health isn’t built on hacks or quick fixes. It’s built on foundations.
No matter your age, diagnosis, or goals, your health comes back to three core areas:
Nourishment
Movement
Rest
This 3-part blog series will walk you through each one—what I’ve learned, what I prioritize, and how you can simplify your own health journey by focusing on what truly matters.
Let’s start with the one that impacts every single cell in your body: nourishment.
Nourish First: Why Food Comes Before Everything Else
Your body is built from what you feed it. And while that may sound obvious, it’s often overlooked in favor of the latest cleanse or miracle product.
But the truth is: if you’re not consistently fueling your body with real, whole foods, everything else—your hormones, digestion, inflammation, energy—can start to unravel.
For me, nourishment is both the first line of support and the first place I return to when things feel off.
I focus on:
Whole, unprocessed foods
A colorful variety of plants
Healthy fats and high-quality protein
Hydration and minerals (often missed!)
But even with that foundation, I still supplement—and here’s why.
Why I Supplement (And What I Actually Take)
Life isn’t perfect. Stress, aging, depleted soil, and busy schedules make it tough to get every nutrient through food alone. That’s where smart, targeted supplementation comes in.
Here’s what I take daily and why:
✅ VMg+
A micronutrient powerhouse that fills nutritional gaps and keeps my energy steady.
✅ Creatine Monohydrate
Not just for athletes. I take it to support strength, muscle retention, and yes—cognitive health too. It's one of the most studied and effective supplements for women over 30.
✅ MetaPWR Advantage
This blend supports collagen, metabolism, and healthy aging at the cellular level. It’s a game-changer for skin, energy, and joint health.
✅ Turmeric Dual Caps
For inflammation and immune support. I’ve found this incredibly helpful as someone in autoimmune remission.
✅ Digestive Enzymes
Because you’re not just what you eat—you’re what you absorb. These help me make the most of my meals.
Wellness Isn’t Complicated—It’s Consistent
This isn’t a list of trendy “wellness hacks.” It’s what has truly made a difference in my health, energy, and recovery.
Start with real food.
Supplement where needed.
Be intentional, not obsessive.
Your body doesn’t need perfection—it needs support you can sustain.
Coming up in Part 2: Movement
Next week, I’ll be sharing how movement supports both physical and mental resilience—and how I’ve made it a joyful, sustainable part of my life.
